Quebec is largely french-speaking province situated in eastern Canada. It does not follow Express Entry process like other territories of Canada. There are two types of applicants who can apply for Permanent Residency in Canada under this program (also abbreviated as PEQ for Programme de l’expérience Québécoise). According to this, Quebec Experience Class is also termed as PEQ.
You can apply for this fast-track immigration program after either studying or working in the province of Quebec. The eligibility requirements for PR in Canada differs from one another as specified by Quebec.
PEQ- Temporary Foreign Workers
You qualify for this program granted that you are working and you have had a skilled job in Quebec for minimum twelve months of the last 24 months. Furthermore, you must have a knowledge of Spoken French to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
Being a temporary worker, following are some crucial conditions that you need to satisfy to get hold of Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) under Quebec Experience Program at the time of submitting you application:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must reside in Quebec as a temporary worker or in the framework of a youth exchange program. At the same time, you must hold a legal status of temporary resident.
- You have been employed for a full-time job in an occupation that is classified higher than level “C” by National Occupational Classification (NOC). You have worked for one or more than one job in the same field for minimum 12 months of the past 12 months.
- You have adapted to the conditions of applicable stays as temporary worker.
- You possess intermediate level of oral french.
- You will have to provide a proof of your funds which will support you and/or your family after attaining PR in Canada for three months.

PEQ- Quebec International Graduates
You are eligible for this category under Quebec Experience Program, if you are in hold of Quebec degree or diploma or would soon be certified with one. You also need to have ability to understand French.
As a student (or a graduate), you must meet the following requirements to gather CSQ certificate for permanent residency in Canada at the time of submitting your application:
- You must be 18 years old having planned to settle down in Quebec to hold a job.
- You have complied to all the conditions on you stay as a foreign student.
- You hold a quebec degree/diploma or you will within 6 months of submitting your application.
You acquire intermediate knowledge level of oral French. - An evidence of your funds that you might need after gaining PR in Canada for you and/or family for a minimum period of three months after.
Canadian PR Under Federal Skilled Worker Program
You not eligible for PEQ under following conditions:
- If you were granted permission to visit Canada on a condition of returning to your own country(unless you have already fulfilled it).
- If you intend to pursue higher education.
How PEQ is different from other PR programs?
