What is Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?
Workers with temporary visa, employed under skilled positions can apply for this program. This is popular choice for those who don’t meet Federal Skilled Worker Program requirements. Applying process for Permanent Residency in Canada under this class is carried out by a system called Express Entry.
Minimum Requirements of Canadian Experience Class:
- During your stay (at least three years) in Canada, you have acquired one year on experience in full-time job (or equivalent to it in part-time).
- You have gained your experience under proper organization.
- Your proficiency in english meets required language levels for all four sections of speaking, listening, writing and reading.
- You plan to live outside the province of Quebec
Note: Any self-employment or work experience gained while you were studying in full-time course doesn’t count.
The province of Quebec does not use Express Entry to allot PR in Canada.
What kind of Work Experience is valid for Canadian Experience Class Program?
Within three years of applying, you need to gain skilled work experience to earn Permanent Residency in Canada.
According to Canadian National Occupational Classification, your work experience must be either of the following:
- Managerial jobs (NOC Skill Level 0)
- Professional jobs (NOC Skill Level A)
- Technical jobs and skilled trades (NOC Skill Level B)
Canada PR under skilled worker program
Educational requirements for PR in Canada:
There is NO educational requirement for CEC. But if you want to earn points for your education under express entry, you either need:
- A Canadian high school or secondary certificate or degree or diploma.
- A completed foreign credential.
- An Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an agency approved by CIC.
Language Requirements for Permanent Residency in Canada:
- You need to attain minimum language level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)-7 for NOC 0 or A jobs or CLB-5 for NOC B jobs. Also, you will be asked to take a language test that is approved by CIC to be eligible for PR in Canada.
